Noctua released two new asymmetrical 140mm CPU coolers to ensure that it will avoid blocking the first PCIe slot. In the not-so-old reviews in the previous months, I highlighted one or two motherboard that was the PCIe slots were too close for comfort for using with 140mm air coolers. As it turns out, Noctua is coming to such motherboard’s rescue. How about that!
The new models “NH-D15S” and “NH-C14S” will be replacing the existing variants and has an asymmetrical design layout to ensure compatibility with both PCIe and DIMM slots while still using the 140mm CPU heatsink design. C14S uses a C-Type designs (much like Thermaltake Big Typhoon) so it will be interesting to see how this will turn out to be.
As always, you get the Securfirm2 mounting system, along with the rest of the accessories. NH-14S is bundled with Noctua NF-A14 PWM fans and NH-D15S is bundled with a single Noctua NH-A15 PWM Fans. These fans are also available for retail from the following links:
